OPEN MYOMECTOMY

Open myomectomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove uterine fibroids while preserving the uterus. Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths that can cause symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and pressure on surrounding organs.

Open myomectomy is a more invasive approach compared to minimally invasive techniques like laparoscopic myomectomy or robotic-assisted myomectomy. It may be recommended for larger fibroids, multiple fibroids, or when the fibroids are deeply embedded within the uterine wall. Recovery time can be longer compared to minimally invasive methods, and the incision will result in a noticeable scar
